The Final was played on Weds 16.09. Mike Sheppard and Martin Dudley were the winners, with John Metcalf and Alan Franklin finishing as runners-up. The two teams are pictured below
Ware BC v EHBA Centenary Match
As well 2026 marking the centenary of Ware Bowling Club (WBC) it also marks the 75th birthday of the East Hertfordshire Bowling Association (EHBA). To mark this double birthday on Wednesday (9th September) we hosted a special WBC-100 v. EHBA-75 celebration match - the green was packed for an 18 end match with a full 6 rinks being played. After the match both teams enjoyed a fish and supper in the clubhouse together with a few libations. Here are pictures of the respective WBC and EHBA teams for the day . . . .
Presentation to The Cavers Manager - Greenie
The 2026 Cavers squad in recognition of our Captain’s leadership, encouragement and support in a difficult transitional season issued Greenie with a certificate of excellence. This was presented by Alun Morgan at the Triple Gala on 31st August and is now proudly displayed at Greenies home.

Final Outdoor Match of 2026
On Sunday (20th September), on a fine autumn afternoon, Ware Bowling Club brought the curtain down on our 2026 centenary summer bowling season with an internal captain's friendly match as per attached picture. We now have the long winter months ahead of us before we can look forward 2027, when outdoor bowling at our club resumes in April.
Triples Gala Day
August 31st Bank Holiday Monday saw the annual playing for 2026 of the WBC Triples Gala Day. In mostly fine weather a record 14 teams played 3 matches apiece across 6 sessions during the day. At the end of play the triple with the most points and winning the trophy was that of Malcolm Bentley, Neil Walker and David Shepherd, pictured below
