Centenary Match

Ware Bowling Club was founded at a meeting in March 1926 with the 'first jack cast' a few weeks later on 17th June. To mark this special centenary date we held an informal, internal match with many members in attendance at the club. The match was preceded with a photocall and a ceremonial casting of the centenary jack by our President, Hugh Mason. Here are a selection of photographs from the evening

WBC v Herts Presidents - Centenary Match

On Friday 03.07.26 Ware Bowls Club hosted a Centenary Celebration match against The Herts Presidents. Bob Hammond and Dave Thoson skipped winning rinks by 1 shot and 2 shots respectively, for the hosts. The other 4 rinks were lost by quite large margins!

But a really enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

Huge thanks to Martin Dudley and Stuart Tyler for preparing and serving the meal, and to Nick Cockroft, Wendy Sharpe and James Gubb who ran a very busy bar all afternoon.

Pictures from the afternoon below.
