Ware Bowls Club Centenary Gala Day

Wednesday 19^th August was our Centenary Gala Day with 12 teams of 4 players competing for a £300 first place prize. Two teams from WBC were joined by 9 teams from external local bowling clubs at Allenburys, Hertford, Bengeo, Cheshunt, Old Harlow and Standon & Puckeridge. The final team was from the Gala Day sponsors, GPFM financial planners - who had 2 players with very little bowling experience, but who will certainly be welcomed back.

The day started with a Spider won by a member of Old Harlow and then followed 4 sessions of 6-end bowling matches interspersed with drink breaks and lunch. Lots of mixing, chat and laughter took place. The bowling winners of the day after a late charge were Allenburys Team 2 with Allenburys Team 1 as runner's up. The day would not have been possible without the organisation and co-ordination of Alun and Jackie plus all those who worked behind the scenes on the day whether in the kitchen, at the bar, selling raffle tickets or as car park attendants.

Thanks for all who attended / supported the day and especially again to our sponsors GPFM.
